Our Founder
In 1985, Mike McCandlish, as Director of Sales and Marketing, established the first dealer network for Cellular One in Columbus, Ohio. In 1986, Mike launched Phones To Go, Cellular One’s top sales distributor in Ohio, which was sold to Cellular One in 1989.
In the fall of 1989 Mike launched McCandlish Marketing, a video distribution company representing Quest Entertainment, a subsidiary of Universal Studios. After becoming Quest’s top distributor, the company was sold in 1995.
As Regional Director of Mergers and Acquisitions for International Profit Associates (IPA), Mike managed 30 consultants in the Midwest Territory. Mike was the company’s #1 sales consultant (out of 400) in 1997, and set a domestic record of 18 sales in one week.
Mike founded The McCandlish Group in 1999. He is the author of “The Sales Hiring Handbook” which was published in 2004.
Mike has trained over 700 sales representatives to sell products in 7 different industries: construction, cellular, home security, office products, management consulting, executive search, and the entertainment industry.
Todd Markowitz - Bio
Todd Markowitz attended UCLA and CSUN, graduating with a degree in TV and Film production. He began his career onstage as well as on daytime television, acting on shows such as “General Hospital,” “Days of our Lives,” and “The Young and the Restless.” While working in front of the camera (as well as behind the scenes) Todd continued working in Recruitment Advertising, developing successful image advertising campaigns for one of the nation’s top Ad agencies.
With a love and hobby for writing song lyrics Todd shifted careers, running various nightclubs in the L.A. area, booking top jazz bands that have gone on to become top artists on jazz radio today. Years later, Todd developed his natural sales ability while working for a product development company involved in the entertainment and real estate industry, raising capital for many profitable enterprise packages. Within 6 months of over quota achievement Todd was promoted to Sales Director, where he trained and managed his own sales force.
In 2002 Todd went on to work in the IT industry for one of Southern
California’s top systems integrators; a Value Added Reseller, where he sold
Network Security related products and services. As Territory Manager for
Riverside, Orange and San Diego Counties, Todd was responsible for servicing
and selling to over 100 accounts as well as New Business Development. He
developed his accounts in various industries including Medical, Financial,
Manufacturing, Education, Government, and Real Estate as well as the
Entertainment Industry.
It is with this spirit and passion for providing his clients with quality service that Todd was recruited by Mike McCandlish to introduce Consultative Sales Recruitment services of The McCandlish Group.
Todd is the proud father of 2 sons, Justin a 13-year-old gifted pianist/composer and Dylan, a 12 year old who loves to draw and create animation characters. Todd is married to a professional singer, Terese Evans, who performs with an LA based band as well as with a Temecula based band in her local area.
